LIDO Concept

The following statements define individual LIDO Concepts within a LIDO Concept Scheme. These statements have as subject the (canonical) URI denoting the LIDO Concept.

Symbolic URI asserting a direct link to a broader concept.

Literal that explains the intended meaning of a concept.

skos:definition “The creation of one or more physical items.”@en

skos:scopeNote

Literal that supplies information of how the use of a concept is limited in indexing practice.

skos:scopeNote “Do not use for conceptual and non-material items (use creation for these).”@en

skos:example

Literal that supplies an example of the use of the concept.

iso-thes:status

Literal that indicates the status of a concept with respect to its completeness and approval and/or its processing state.

Values in use are:

  1. “Approved”: The concept is finished, reviewed and accepted. It is released for indexing.
  2. “In progress”: The concept is tentativaly accepted to be included in the LIDO Terminology, but awaiting approval.

skos:exactMatch

URI that links to a concept outside the LIDO Terminology, indicating a high degree of confidence that the concepts can be used interchangeably across a wide range of information retrieval applications.

skos:closeMatch

URI that links to a concept outside the LIDO Terminology, indicating that the two concepts are sufficiently similar to be used interchangeably in some information retrieval applications.

skos:broadMatch

URI that links to a concept outside the LIDO Terminology, indicating that the target concept has a broader meaning.

skos:broadMatch <URI of the broader target concept>

skos:narrowMatch

URI that links to a concept outside the LIDO Terminology, indicating that the target concept has a narrower meaning.

skos:narrowMatch <URI of the narrower target concept>

skos:relatedMatch

URI that links to a concept outside the LIDO Terminology, indicating that the two concepts have an associative relationship.

dcterms:created

Date of creation of the LIDO Concept as xsd:dateTime or xsd:date.

Date of last modification of the LIDO Concept as xsd:dateTime or xsd:date.
